Responsibilities
- Accounts Payable Manager is responsible for overseeing accounts payable expense operations, activities, processes and systems. - Review, manage and approve general ledger account reconciliations and accruals to ensure the timely completion of A/P month end closing processes. - Provide technical and procedural guidance in AP policies and procedures to staff and colleagues throughout the company. - Build and maintain effective relationships with internal customers through timely and accurate payment and response to inquiries. - Implement improvement initiatives in key areas addressing backlogs and or delays. - Resolve escalated issues from internal stakeholders and / or suppliers. - Coach and counsel staff to resolve complex or out of policy operational issues. - Oversee consistent adherence to standard deadlines, SLA’s and quality standards. - Engage process partners and internal customers to ensure AP functions are performed as expected - Manage the supplier and customer on-boarding process to perform vendor and customer additions and maintenance. - Maintain internal controls as defined by the company. - Manage the annual 1099 reporting and ensures timely and accuracy of vendor payments. - Acts as knowledge source for global process improvement and technology initiatives focused on improving master data. - Works with the team cross functionally to execute standard operating procedures and training materials for new processes and procedures that are implemented. - Participate in projects as required and provide subject matter expertise. - Identify and help resolve critical data management issues and risks. - Active engagement in the regular data cleansing projects. - Work with Financial Systems and IT Business Partnership on accounts payable and supplier master data influenced projects. - Contribute to the on-going development of the Master Data Function and ensure all global needs are met.
Ideal Candidate
- Bachelors degree in Business/Accounting/Finance or related field. - A minimum of 5 years management experience in Accounts Payable, Master Data Management or Financial Operations. - The position requires forward thinking, strong analytical capability, excellent problem solving, the ability to manage change, solid execution and commitment to help the company meet financial objectives and exceed customer expectations. - Demonstrated ability to optimize process, implement change and manage associated risk in AP environment required. - Continuous improvement and demonstrated end to end process management skills required. - Experience with Oracle, SAP, PeopleSoft or Basware strongly preferred. - Highly motivated, self-driven towards accurate results and act with a high sense of urgency. - Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications. . - Complete understanding of how data is utilized within the P2P process and its impact. - Ability to organize workload, and the capacity to progress a range of simultaneous tasks and projects - Ability to interact with IT resources when technology roles and capabilities are required to facilitate aspects of the procure to pay process - Very methodical and accurate, displaying a strong desire for high quality with attention to detail. - The ability to work independently and as part of a team. - Specific training or experience in the procure to pay work stream. **Behavioral Competencies:** * High degree of integrity with courage and commitment to do the right thing no matter what the situation. * High sense of urgency and ability to identify creative solutions to time sensitive problems. * Strong customer service focus, with a drive to ensure that we exceed the expectations of our customers. * Commitment to delivering quality results and overcoming obstacles and challenges in a time-sensitive environment. * Strong problem solving ability, balance of common sense and creativity. * Ability to juggle and prioritize multiple work streams, remains calm and effective under pressure.
