Summary
The Business Development Manager works to win new clients and expand relationships with existing clients – pursuing sales opportunities with the objective of winning new business.
Responsibilities
* Work with local office leadership and the Director of Business Development to create and execute a sales strategy for the assigned territory * Conduct and report on sales activity within assigned territory * Coordinate with Client Service groups to develop and execute sales campaigns under the direction of the Director of Business Development. * Identify and qualify sales opportunities through relationships, sales campaign activity, or other sales activity * Work with local and regional leadership to identify pursuit team members and client relationship owners * Manages the sales and follow up process during the sales cycle to make sure that the process is moving toward a conclusion. * Approaches obtaining appointments creatively, through mailings, social media, relationships, campaigns or pure cold calling. Dedicates time and focus to meet with new targets, and understands relationship selling. * Develops and executes a personal Business Plan for success in local market including managing and updating a personal pipeline. * Partner with marketing to drive mutual objectives. * Makes 20 + quality meetings per month with targets to move a sales process forward. * Can read a 10K and annual report to identify trends and potential specific solution needs for a client or target. Knows how to do research on a target. * Learn the key solutions of the firm for all services and uses excellent understanding of firm’s resources to solve client needs.
Ideal Candidate
* The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in business administration or accounting * Established business relationships in the local business community * Possess industry knowledge * Excellent verbal and written communication skills plus presentation skills * Possess leadership qualities necessary to lead a team * Ability to manage time effectively and to multi-task
