Summary
Oversee, plan and direct daily functions of Human Resource operations and activities to maximize the strategic objectives and value in areas such as employee development, compensation, benefits, recruitment, employee relations, policies, procedures and regulatory compliance. Diagnoses problems and provide appropriate recommendations to resolve issues; partakes in the development and implementation of new policies, programs and procedures.
Responsibilities
**Essential Functions and Responsibilities** * Manages all duties and responsibilities in accordance with Caraustar accounting policies and financial control procedures. Ensures that Subordinates are trained and aware of the requirements of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy. * Oversees and directs work tasks and processes in Human Resource areas such as recruitment, employment, labor relations, employee relations, compensation and benefits. * Administer company policies and procedures. * Adhere to applicable laws and pending legislation. * Conduct training classes to new and existing employees. * Identify staff vacancies, recruit, interview, hire and terminate; administer disciplinary procedures to employees. * Resolve disputes between employees, management and union officials. * Provide information to employees concerning wages, policies, procedures, working conditions, wages, compensation, benefits, succession planning, etc. * Sends announcements, memos and other methods of correspondence to staff regarding business group updates or other information whether it is general or private. * Advises managers on organizational policy topics and/or programs that need to be executed such as safety training, Sexual Harassment and Equal Employment Opportunities. * Serves as a liaison between management and employees regarding employment related questions, interpreting legal documents and helping to resolve work related disputes. * Improve workflow processes and communication between employees, managers and departments. * Conducts Open Enrollment. * Ensures safety requirements are met by OSHA standards; implement safety programs at facilities. **Other Responsibilities** * Comply in all respects with the provisions of the Caraustar Standards of Business Conduct Policy required. * Update and distribute company manual of policies and procedures. * Research and stay current on benchmark trends. * Collects and analyzes Human Resource data; provide appropriate recommendations on improvement strategies.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s degree preferred or at least 5-8 years experience in related industry. * Knowledge general Human Resource practices such as laws, policies and procedures a must. * Self-directed vital. * Must be able to communicate proficiently oral and written. * Must have excellent interpersonal skills. * Ability to multi-task and manage time essential. * Must be able to work efficiently under tight deadlines. * Organization skills a must. * Must be able to direct the work of others. * Ability to use Microsoft Office software. * Ability to actively listen a must. * Must be able to resolve conflict in a timely manner.
