Summary
Blizzard Entertainment has an amazing opening for an art department manager to join the StarCraft II team. This role is somewhat of a rare spawn here, and we’re sure you’ll appreciate the opportunity it presents. You’ll need to put your seasoned skillset to good use as you’ll be managing folks across the whole of the art department. Of course, we’d love it if you have a background in art, though it’ll be your thorough understanding of art department dynamics within a game development team that’ll be most critical to your success in this position. Responsibilities
* Partner with the art director, art leads, and producers to manage individuals across the entire art department. * Develop paths for artists’ career development and conduct performance reviews for the team. * Create and implement action plans for the art department's future success, emphasizing training and development. * Administer staffing decisions that help achieve both the short and long term goals of the art team. * Work with production to help create and manage team schedules and insure proper workflow throughout the art department.
Ideal Candidate
**REQUIREMENTS** * A minimum of 3 years’ management experience in PC, console, or mobile game development * Demonstrated ability to manage a large team of artists in a dynamically changing game production environment * Strong communications and organizational skills * Experience managing a wide range of personnel issues including career development and conflict resolution * Demonstrated ability to interact as part of a team and to contribute to increasing productivity goals and efficiencies * Able to build consensus on overall goals and balance resource allocation based on project goals and * individual ability * Strong organizational skills * Well-developed interpersonal communication skills, diplomacy and tact **PLUSES** * Game artist or content creation experience * Expertise with project tracking software and Microsoft Office suite * Passionate gamer with experience playing a wide range of games
