Summary
Blinds.com is seeking an exceptional SEM Manager with a history of proven results, to help us continue along our path to success. The Manager’s main goal is to lead and scale our search engine marketing (SEM) initiatives to deliver engaged traffic to our website and call center. From monitoring search queries to ensuring ad copy/landing page effectiveness to actively testing new tactics in order to improve conversion and spend efficiency, this role is a diverse and strategic part of the team.The perfect candidate will be an analytical thinker who is curious and loves to experiment, taking pride in their work and personal ownership of his/her channels. Someone who can balance big-picture strategy, with exceptional attention to detail and a focus on driving results. Bonus points for excellent ping pong skills!
Responsibilities
* Develop and execute paid-search strategy for a portfolio of brands, deploying 8-figure budgets and being accountable to meet visitor, new customer, revenue, and margin goals; within ROI and budget targets * Monitor campaign results, analyze key trends and continuously optimize paid-search channels – text ads (PPC­), comparison shopping engines (CSEs) and shopping campaigns (PLAs) * Oversee day-to-day management, including bid management, keyword research, campaign taxonomy, geo/device targeting, product feed management and optimization etc. * Define measures of success for channels; deliver insights and actions based on KPIs * Create spend-plan with revenue/visitor forecasts based on historical performance and market forces * Scale customer acquisition efforts through continuous optimization, testing and experimenting without fear of failure * Identify growth opportunities and implement initiatives to further increase market-share; potentially researching/piloting new digital channels * Perform competitive research to ensure we stay ahead of the competition * Produce reports and summaries in a timely manner with clear-cut communication, including market, economic, competitive, consumer, and shopper insights * Provide management and mentorship to direct-reports and others inside the organization; helping them become better than they ever believed possible * Manage internal and/or external SEM resources to research/develop keywords, create and test ad copy and perform landing-page testing * Build, manage and maintain strong relationships with agency and vendor partners * Implement industry-leading tools and design best-practices for our team; identify, select, and engage specialized agency and/or vendor partners as necessary * Build strong working relationships with internal cross functional partners, communicating expectations, managing deliverables and ensuring deadlines are met * Work collaboratively with other marketing and analytics team members to optimize channels to broader marketing goals and initiatives; aligning with attribution, media-mix and customer funnel strategies * Passion and curiosity to continuously improve; staying current on the latest search and digital marketing trends * Serve as SEM subject matter expert within company. Ideal Candidate
**Requirements:** * 5+ years of digital-marketing experience with at least 3 years of managing multi-million dollar PPC and PLA campaigns within an agency or retail organization * Comprehensive understanding of performance marketing, conversion optimization, and online customer acquisition * Experience with Adobe Analytics (aka Omniture), Google Analytics and Google Webmaster Tools. Hands-on experience with SEM platforms (Google AdWords, Bing Ads, Yahoo Gemini) and bid management tools (e.g. Marin, Kenshoo etc.). Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel. * Not required, but extra points for: HTML, CSS, tag-management, Tableau, and/or Photoshop * Demonstrated strong business judgement and decision-making skills; ability to identify, prioritize, and articulate highest impact initiatives. * Experience developing reporting, trend analysis, and program design. * Innovative thinker, able to operate in strategic capacity and with laser-focus on flawless execution. * Outstanding analytical skills, strong experience in optimization and interpreting test results and drawing conclusions with experience in using ad serving, programmatic media management, and digital analytics. * Excellent communications skills (verbal, written and presentation), both in articulating his/her ideas and gathering input from key stakeholders. * Self-directed and able to work independently with minimal direct supervision, while recognizing the value of contributing in a team environment * Up-to-date with the latest trends and best practices in SEO and SEM **KPI’s:** * Success in this position will be evaluated based on growth of channels and spend-efficiency. Using primary measures such as ROI and YoY growth.
