BlackRock is seeking a candidate to join as a Senior Economist, who will provide rigorous macroeconomic analysis and policy insight, contributing to the broad investment regime identification process for portfolio management teams in Americas Fixed Income.
- As Senior Economist, the candidate will develop a coherent analytical process designed to help establish the central expectation for the trajectory of growth and inflation, and the implications therein for the monetary policy reaction function
- Provide regular insight and analysis to the portfolio management teams on relevant economic data releases and policy meetings
- Lead the macroeconomic discussion internally at key weekly meetings and ad hoc portfolio management team meetings
- Develop relationships across policy making bodies and academic institutions, maintain a thought-leadership role with respect to contemporary themes and debates within the economics community
- 10+ years of experience in a senior economist position in the financial services industry preferred
- Strong background in macroeconomics with substantial experience forecasting and analyzing economic trends
- Ability to lead and influence strategic discussions and help develop rigorous conclusions that can be utilized across multi-asset teams
- Credible thought leader and effective communicator, both orally and written
- Intellectual curiosity that drives creative thinking and inspires multi-asset investment teams
