You’re an algorithmic investing developer who solves complex problems by writing scalable and precise code. You’re analytical and curious by nature. You seek the truth through detailed analysis of data. You are creative and trust your intuition, but can test your conjectures through rigorous and reproducible testing.
Responsibilities
* Be the gatekeeper of production quality code and maintainer of in-house libraries * Write production quality, scalable, efficient code for reliable testing and analysis * Develop and maintain a testing and versioning framework to enable productive investment research and development * Be an authority on our financial data management, from pulling from external data, to making reproducible research and version management easy. * Design and analyze sophisticated strategies for taxable portfolio management and trading * Build and maintain infrastructure for cloud based Monte Carlo simulations * Have an an opinion, and back it up with evidence and data
Ideal Candidate
**Qualifications** * A deep passion and ambition to make saving and investing better through technology * 4+ years working in banking, asset management, a hedge fund or related field * Minimum of a BA/BS degree in Finance, Econ, Physics, Math, Stats, CS, EE or related field * A deep passion for making investing better, combined with an eye for detailed testing * Strong knowledge of R, Python, or another serious statistical computing language * Deeply passionate for writing the cleanest and most efficient code * A creative mind with attention to detail and drive for results * The ability to communicate findings to experts and non-experts **Nice-to-Haves** * A professional background in automated trading or investment management * Master or PhD in a quantitative discipline or finance/economics * Previous experience with SQL or other database knowledge
