Responsibilities
BioMed Realty is looking for a dynamic Leasing professional to help expand the company’s presence in the New York area. The ideal candidate will support the New York Market Lead in all aspects of the leasing process from coordinating tours, to preparing presentations, to generating letters of intent. **Responsibility** * Assisting development project managers with creating business plans for tenant improvement and redevelopment projects; * Performing financial runs for lease analysis and development alternatives; * Tracking and analyzing market data and trends to develop strategic leasing and investment strategies for existing properties and potential acquisitions; * Supporting acquisitions team with market intelligence; maintaining database of life science companies/tenants in region; * Developing and maintaining relationships with third parties (e.g., city agencies and officials, development vendors, industry contacts); * Conducting field tours and research, previewing competitive properties; * Tracking market activities and ensuring a smooth transition from deal closings to integration with asset management and other departments. * Other responsibilities as needed.
Ideal Candidate
* The ideal candidate will have three years’ plus years’ experience with a real estate company or brokerage firm; * BA/BS in finance, economics, marketing, accounting or related field required; * MBA a plus; * Experience in real estate financial analysis, modeling, budgeting, forecasting and reporting and working knowledge of financial statements, operating budgets, leases and related documents; * High-level of proficiency with Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access; * Proven ability to lead internal team meetings and communicate effectively across various departments; * Highly organized and task oriented, able to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with multiple deadlines, and adapt readily to changing priorities; * Excellent people skills and the ability to build and maintain positive, supportive working relationships as well as network and communicate effectively in and outside the company; * Ability to convey information orally and in written correspondence, reports and presentations and technical information in a clear and concise manner. Will require work time in Manhattan and in Tarrytown office.
