Summary
We are seeking a candidate who will be instrumental in building out our CMBS Special Servicing platform. The ideal candidate will have experience managing all asset classes, GSE experience and will be based out of our Bethesda, MD office.
Responsibilities
Responsibilities will include participation in general compliance audits, including Reg AB audits, surveillance on a portfolio of non-specially serviced loans, the review and enhancement of existing policies, procedures and templates for actively specially serviced loans and the asset management of a portfolio of actively specially serviced loans in accordance with policies & procedures, industry standards and servicing agreements. In addition, the candidate will be involved in processing and approving consent requests. Loans/collateral under management may include loans held for securitization and those already securitized. The wide spectrum of responsibilities will allow for influence of operational protocols, staff hiring/development and management duties. Below is a list of many, but not all potential responsibilities of the role: * Perform all special asset management tasks for a portfolio of actively specially serviced loans as a Player/Coach * Perform surveillance for a portfolio of non-specially serviced loans- Identify issues and concerns within the portfolio * Assist in developing and implementing departmental policies and procedures for effective and efficient supervision of actively specially serviced loans * Work with Head of Special Asset Management on assignment of loans within the group * Provide guidance and review of workout/disposition analysis * Analyze concentrations within the portfolio, including markets, borrowers, investors * Recommend additions to or changes within the Watch and Monitoring List Report * Maintain quality relationships with borrowers, investors, third party vendors and where applicable, other parties to the securitization * Assist in the training and cross training of staff within the Special Asset Management department * Provide assistance in reviewing transaction agreements prior to securitization * Approval of consent requests * Approval of extra-ordinary releases from reserves and account close outs * Respond in a timely fashion with respect to staff requests for decisions and general assistance * Maintain quality operations and positive morale within the group * Other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Core Competencies:** * Strong management skills with demonstrated experience supervising a team * Strong written and verbal communication skills. Candidate must be able to clearly convey loan status and develop loan workout/resolution plan (nonperforming loans) * Strong analytical skills (property operations, borrower financials and market performance) * Disciplined approach to diligent follow up through use of manual or automated tickler system * Strong PC skills, including a demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications **Qualifications:** * College degree or academic achievement in Real Estate, Law, Finance, Management, Journalism or Communication/Rhetoric * Minimum 7+ years of commercial or multifamily loan asset management experience, preferably within CMBS Special Servicing * Prior experience with Enterprise servicing platform
