Summary
We are currently looking for a Business Development Manager specializing in the Central CA area (Fresno, San Louis Obispo, Ventura, Santa Barbara, Bakersfield etc.). The Business Development Manager will be working remotely and is primarily responsible for the development of business through broker force.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for the development of business in Central CA through our broker force. * Visit a minimum of 12 agencies per week. * Accountable for production, retention, new appointments, and increasing submissions. * Communicates product offerings, carrier appetites and submission processes. * Train brokers and their staff on use of systems when available. * Ensure that we meet our production budgets each quarter through business development efforts. * Recommend product or service enhancements to improve customer satisfaction and sales potential. * Establish rapport and develop relationships with agents * Cold call and secure appointments with new Agents and Brokers. * Educate Brokers and Agents on company’s products, carrier appetites, submission process and binding procedures. * Gather competition information including rates, premiums, appetite, policy forms, and underwriting guidelines to gain knowledge of the current market. * Participate in the development and distributions of marketing brochures, campaigns and incentives through creative thinking, broker feedback and competitor information. * Attend trade shows for targeted areas of the region. * Facilitate resolution for problems/disputes; address concerns or problems agents may have by providing additional information and directing agents to resources. * Prepare trip reports for management.

A.) from four-year college or university in related field preferred; and/or two to five years related experience and/or training in commercial insurance lines; * Must have familiarity with a variety of the industry`s concepts, practices, and procedures. * Account management experience preferred. * Multi line experience with an emphasis in Workers’ Compensation preferred. **Computer Skills:** To perform this job successfully, an individual must have working knowledge of Microsoft Word; Microsoft Outlook, Excel skills and internet software. Working knowledge of Sales force preferred. **Language Ability:** Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common scientific and technical journals, financial reports, and legal documents. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Must have a strong ability to communicate professionally to a variety of individuals with ease. **Math Ability:** Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry. **Reasoning Ability:** Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
