Responsibilities
Overall Purpose: This overlay sales or specialist sales position is responsible for selling complex/technical products, services, applications, and/or solutions to customers in order to solve their strategic business needs. Key Roles and Responsibilities: - This Managed Security overlay/sales specialist position sells highly complex technical products and new and emerging application services, generates sales and supports the sales efforts of others leveraging product, industry, and/or technological expertise. - These applications, products, services and solutions are a high priority for the company and requires a high degree of technical product expertise. Typically not account-assigned and called into accounts as opportunities are identified. - Manages and coordinates the sales and technical team in support of the sale of the company’s highly complex products. - Demonstrates broad technical knowledge of companies products and new and emerging application services, in order to develop and present sales proposals and systems solutions for highly critical and complex projects. - Typically works independently without supervision and is viewed as an expert in the field by both the company and the customer. - May assist less experienced peers and support or close a sale by account-assigned Account Managers, or may identify and close additional opportunities in cooperation with assigned account manager. - This job key applies to employees who spend more than 50% of their time performing duties directly related to making sales away from their offices at a customer’s place of business or home. - For employees working in Massachusetts, this job key applies to employees who both spend at least 50% of their time performing duties directly related to making sales away from their offices at a customer’s place of business or home and are not expected to report to their offices on a daily basis. - For employees working in Hawaii, this job key applies to employees who spend at least 60% of their time performing duties directly related to making sales away from their offices at a customer’s place of business or home. - For employees working in Oregon and West Virginia, this job key applies to employees who spend at least 70% of their time performing duties directly related to making sales away from their offices at a customer’s place of business or home. - For employees working in Colorado, the District of Columbia, Minnesota, North Dakota, Pennsylvania, Washington, or Wisconsin, this job key applies to employees who spend at least 80% of their time performing duties directly related to making sales away from their offices at a customer’s place of business or home. - Duties directly related to making sales includes: Meeting with customers and engaging in sales activities at the customers site; communicating with customers via phone, teleconference, e-mail, etc. related to proposed solutions/sales, etc.; traveling to and from the customers premise for the purpose of engaging in sales activities; providing subject matter expertise regarding technical issues relating to sales; advising customers on suitability of products based on technical needs; preparing proposals, presentations, or bids, including developing pricing, developing strategic plans related to the customer and the proposed solutions/sales; researching and developing customer solutions with AT&T external partners, including design and engineering; and researching customer business and industry to identify new sales opportunities.
Ideal Candidate
Required Qualifications: - Must have 10+ years experience in Firewall, Content Filtering, Intrusion Detection, Secure Email, Secure Access, End Point Security and Network sales. - Must have 10+ years Application Service Solutions Sales Experience - Must have 10+ years telecommunications products, solutions, and services; including security, data sales experience. - Must have 10+years networking solutions, and or leading systems integration sales experience. - Valid driver's license and clean driving record. Desired Qualifications: - Bachelors or Advanced Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Business, Marketing/Sales, or Communications. - Education: Typically requires a Bachelors degree. - Experience: Typically requires twelve plus years of direct work experience.
