Summary
Arbor Commercial Mortgage, a national commercial real estate finance company, has a career opportunity at its New York City midtown office for a Vice President, Structured Finance Underwriting. The VP, Structured Finance Underwriting is responsible for structuring and underwriting complex credit facilities in a manner which achieves Arbor’s profitability goals while remaining within set risk parameters. Arbor specializes in the origination of debt and equity financing for multifamily, office, retail, hospitality, and other diverse commercial real estate assets.
Responsibilities
* Perform all aspects of financial analysis, underwriting, and loan structuring, including statement spreading, risk assessment, projections and sensitivity analysis, industry and management assessments, collateral analysis and completion of credit approval documents. * Review and analyze financial statements, tax returns and cash flow statements of borrowers and guarantors * Interface with credit, portfolio, operations and product specialist personnel, as required, to facilitate the underwriting, closing and transition of prospects to portfolio management * Coordinate the deal team during the underwriting process * Engage outside parties for collateral reviews, appraisals, background checks, and accounting due diligence, as necessary * Perform on-site due diligence through property inspections * Contribute to the advancement and training of junior personnel within the group
Ideal Candidate
* Minimum of 7-years of related experience in real estate credit analysis, underwriting or commercial property valuation * Strong credit skills evidenced by ability to quickly evaluate strengths and weaknesses of a variety of transactions * Strong written and oral communication skills * Strong interpersonal skills * Able to work independently * Proactive and flexible to changing situational requirements
