Summary
Arbor Commercial Mortgage, a national commercial real estate finance company, has a career opportunity at its corporate office in Uniondale, NY for a Compliance Specialist. The Compliance Specialist is responsible for reviewing Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac loan files after rate lock and conducting cash and document audits on closed investor and portfolio loans.
Responsibilities
The Compliance Specialist will have the following duties and responsibilities, including but not limited to: * Review closed loan files to ensure proper and accurate documentation and creating reports for senior management * Ensure any and all post closing loan conditions are met and documented accordingly * Execute file testing as it relates to compliance initiatives * Prepare and distribute quarterly and year-end summary highlights to report results and corrective actions * Effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, report results and corrective actions to Department Heads * Create and design web-based training material for multiple platforms including audio and video * Project managing select initiatives, as appropriate
Ideal Candidate
**Education:** * Four-year Bachelor’s degree required. **Experience:** * Minimum 3 years’ experience in one or both of the following disciplines combined: * Underwriting or operations experience with a concentration in compliance or quality control, and/or * Audit experience within the commercial real estate/multifamily industry. **Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:** * Excellent written and verbal communication/presentation skills, a must * Strong compliance policy and procedure writing skills * Understanding of traditional commercial mortgage origination and underwriting practices * A general understanding of commercial loan servicing * Knowledge of Fannie Mae's and Freddie Mac’s underwriting and quality control guidelines * A basic knowledge of FHA loans and the FHA multifamily product line, a plus * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Adobe * Candidate must possess strong organizational skills and be teamwork and results oriented
