Responsibilities
The Business Performance Data Sr. Analyst combines business and systems knowledge to support performance reporting and exploratory analytics. Evaluates, designs, tests, and maintains financial reporting and business performance management systems. Manages complex projects as assigned to maintain consistency between business application systems and to deliver data to internal customers. Position Details * Offer to selected candidate will be made contingent on the results of background checks. Business Performance Management / Financial Reporting (40%) * Works with all levels of management throughout the company to determine the organization's critical success factors and their drivers. Verifies accuracy of critical success factors. * Works with Information Systems (I/S), Enterprise Data Management (EDM), and peers to design, test and deliver analytic systems to inform management of critical success factors and their drivers. * Designs and oversees key data flows from I/S-maintained systems to business-maintained information repositories (e.g. SAS and Essbase). * Utilizes information systems and advanced business financial knowledge to design, develop, and maintain databases used for expense analysis, quarterly operating reports, profit and growth planning, etc. * Governs, maintains, and enhances processes and standards for report automation, report distribution, and tool / information access. * Develops and delivers interactive dashboards to accelerate business insight and bring attention to situations requiring management/executive management decisions. Technical Expertise (20%) * Trains management and peers on reporting tools, systems, and data. * Maintains current knowledge of our financial tools and software; stays abreast of current economic and technological developments, evaluates their impact, and recommends direction. * Integrates outside information into financial databases to provide a basis of comparison; adjusts various planning factors that are affected by outside events. Analytics Support (20%) * Participates in exploratory analytics projects to provide statistically sound, data-driven recommendations for solving business problems. * Works closely with Statistical Analysts and business stakeholders to understand the business problem and develop feasible analytical approaches to meet process and program needs. * Sources data for analytics projects; assesses data quality; creates data dictionaries to communicate data features to Statistical Analyst(s) and stakeholders of the dataset. * Elevates areas of concern based on analysis and suggests opportunities for improvement.
