Business Intelligence (BI) Principal IS Prog Analyst

Job Responsibilities:

• Implement and manage the BI Run services offered as part of the Advanced Analytics & Reporting service

• Provide technical leadership for reporting & analytical applications and platform support

• Provide creative and practical solutions to business intelligence and information management issues

• Participate in architecture, strategy and direction for various analytical and BI initiatives

• Ensure alignment across platform/tools/systems in Analytics and other Retail IS departments

• Responsible for Business and Service ownership and road-mapping of key BI systems/platforms

• Manage the technical delivery and ongoing support of BI Lifecycle projects deployed

• Perform ongoing monitoring of Run service for adherence and continuous improvements

• Assist with creation of Analytics and Business Intelligence strategies and roadmaps

• Advise technical teams and business teams on relevant controls for the services in the group

• Work with the outsourcing supplier(s) for BI Run services – Operational support and Enhancement delivery

Basic Qualifications

• Doctorate degree & 2 years of Information Systems experience OR
• Master’s degree & 6 years of Information Systems experience OR
• Bachelor’s degree & 8 years of Information Systems experience OR
• Associate’s degree & 10 years of Information Systems experience OR
• High school diploma / GED & 12 years of Information Systems experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master’s Degree with 6+ years of experience in Engineering, Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, Finance or the Life Sciences Experience with deploying large scale business intelligence and data/information reporting / presentation solutions in complex environments Analytical, problem-solving, business analysis and decision-making skills

• Experience in various enterprise reporting and analytics technologies like Cognos, Business Objects, Spotfire, QlikView, MicroStrategy, SAS etc

• Knowledge of data warehousing & ETL technologies like Teradata, Informatica, SQL Server and big data technologies like Hadoop etc

• Knowledge of other BI emerging technologies and concepts like data virtualization, data visualization, mobile reporting, predictive analytics, in memory databases, etc.

• Ability to establish, maintain and enhance relationships with clients, partners and other IS groups

• Strong collaboration and communication skills

• Experience working in the Pharmaceutical/Biotechnology/Biomedical devices/Healthcare Industries

• Experience with Change management and ITIL processes

• Client management skills - ability to work with internal business functions to understand their business processes, manage scope of work expectations and suggest / recommend IS solutions

• Supplier/Vendor management skills - ability to work with vendors on operational system support and manage scope of work expectations

• Ability to function in a matrix team environment

• Experience with system design, configuration and business processes

• Knowledge of technical architecture diagrams, data models, process flowcharting and project management using MS Office applications, including MS Project and MS Visio and similar applications

• Ability to master, with minimal support, new IS technologies and processes
