The Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to attorneys in a manner consistent with the highest levels of performance and professionalism within the Legislative Analysis Unit of Aetna.
The successful candidate for this Administrative Assistant position will work in the Legislative Analysis Unit. The Administrative Assistant will:
- Independently perform varied administrative duties related to functional areas such as in-taking and logging legal requirements and information, vendor support and problem resolution, and preparing communications and reports.
- Interact with individuals at all levels of the organization and all vendors.
- Make meeting arrangements and handle mail.
- Create/prepare materials and reports, e.g., PowerPoint presentations, Word documents, Excel spreadsheets, meeting agendas, and communications and ensure distribution to appropriate individuals in a timely manner.
- Review documents to ensure accuracy and quality, and revise as needed.
- Create, manage, and facilitate access to office documents in accordance with enterprise records management procedures and internal team processes.
- Create, maintain and update SharePoint sites and shared drives.
- Work effectively as an integral member of a team
- Operate and maintain office equipment.
Background/Experience
- 2-5 years experience within corporate healthcare or insurance environment or within law firm specializing in health related law is desired
- Previous administrative experience within a corporate law department, law firm, or compliance department is required.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills are required
- Adaptability to shifting work demands is required
- Expertise in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and use of technology is required
Education
The highest level of education desired for candidates in this position is a Associate's degree or equivalent experience.
