Responsibilities
The Senior Financial Analyst (SFA) provides analytical support to Washington Adventist Hospital, which is located in Takoma Park, Maryland. This support includes, but is not limited to: (1) financial and operational analysis to support key management initiatives (2) capital and operational budgeting (3) labor productivity analysis (4) service line and margin analysis and (5) responding to ad-hoc requests from fiscal leaders. As a senior member of the Financial Operations team, the SFA is expected to mentor and grow staff, serve as a positive resource for other members of the team and work with department and team leadership to achieve department wide goals. In addition, the SFA assists a team of senior and staff accountants in maintaining the accounting records of their assigned entities. The responsibilities of the SFA include, but are not limited to: (1) account analysis (2) balance sheet and income statement reconciliations related to the revenue and payroll accounting cycles (3) contributing to the production of the internal financial report book for AHC and (4) responding to standard requests for information during the conduct of the annual financial statement audit of Adventist HealthCare.
Ideal Candidate
- College degree in business, finance or health-related field; Masters degree preferred - Three + years work experience in financial management or decision support - Working knowledge of healthcare industry and/or hospital operations - Familiarity with budgeting systems (Business Objects) and internal financial reporting systems (PeopleSoft) - Demonstrate ability to plan and coordinate projects from start to finish, set and meet objectives, budgets and deadlines - Strong customer service skills - Strong organizational and interpersonal skills - Must be attentive to detail and have strong communication and presentation skills - Must utilize tact and good judgment - Must have a working knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles and standards - Required to maintain levels of confidentiality with sensitive information - Proficient in PC skills such as the Windows work environment, the Internet and workplace email systems - Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access
