Summary
The Director of Finance is responsible for the delivery of cost effective and efficient accounting services, financial planning and reporting and the establishment of policies and processes that meet the current and future business requirements of Adventist HealthCare (AHC).
Responsibilities
- Manage day to day accounting process and monthly closing cycle in accordance to generally accepted accounting principles. - Develop and modify accounting policies and procedures to meet both current and future business models as needed. - Coordinate with Financial Managers to publish monthly financial reports as scheduled. - Manage accounting and financial systems and maintain full and accurate accounting records. - Lead the annual long-term financial plan development and budgeting process. - Employ and continuously improve monthly financial forecast and quarterly projection by business unit to track financial performance of each business unit and AHC as a whole. - Provide ongoing financial modeling and analysis expertise to various stakeholders of AHC. - Ensure consistent service delivery in a consultative and solutions-based capacity to all levels of management with regard to financially related issues, policies and procedures by the Financial Operations team. - Oversee the continuous improvement of Accounting and Financial processes and the development of the team with the goal to achieve best practices and optimal output. - Coordinate the external audit and meet the independent auditors workpaper support requirements. - On an ongoing basi
Ideal Candidate
- BS or BA in Accounting - Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificate or license - Demonstrated knowledge of generally accepted accounting principles as they relate to non-profit organizations and healthcare. - 8+ years experience as an accounting professional, 4 of which was spent managing and leading staff. - 4+ years experience preparing and analyzing financial statements. - Proficient in project development, planning and execution. - Solid understanding of the annual financial audit process. - Proficient in Microsoft Office suite - Excellent verbal and written communication skills. - Strong stewardship of confidential data.
