Summary
The Accounting Supervisor in McBee SC will oversee the accounts payable and payroll functions of the accounting department while directly performing financial functions and analysis related to payroll, accounts payable, fixed assets, purchase card administration and month end close in a timely and reliable manner. The Accounting Supervisor will also support the financial reporting process including review, analyze and interpret the results of plant operations.
Responsibilities
* Supervise activities in the accounts payable function for productive and non-productive accounts payable and all wire transfers. * Supervise the processing of payroll data and ensure that computing, withholding, or deductions associated with net pay is done properly. * Participate in preparation of monthly forecast, including direct labor, fixed spending and variable spending. * Participate in preparation of annual budget, including direct labor, fixed spending and variable spending. * Support the financial reporting process and ensure timely and reliable reporting. * Work closely with the external and internal audit groups to ensure timely completion of the compliance and substantive testing as required. * Complete month end closing including account reconciliations, journal entry, and reporting to divisional accounting. * Administer purchase cards for the facility. * Review, analyze and interpret results of operations, identify financial and operation issues and make recommendations for change. * Backup to accounts payable and payroll. * Complete fixed asset transactions. * Perform other activities as needed.
Ideal Candidate
* B.S. in Accounting or Business Administration * 3-5 years of progressive experience in a manufacturing environment * 2 years of previous supervisory experience required. * Expertise in accounting functions to include payroll, accounts payable, and general accounting to include fixed assets, sales tax, and month end closing. * High level of proficiency in PC spreadsheets and ERP/MRP systems (SAP preferred). * Demonstrated proficiency in GAAP, SOX and other financial compliance standards * Strong analytical skills * Ability to clearly communicate financial information in an easy to understand manner. * Strong planning and organizational skills. **Education** Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Related Field
