Summary
Do you have a passion for helping students? Are you the “resume guru” or the career adviser for your friends, family and peers? Under the direction of the Director of Career Services, the Career Services Coordinator provides White Glove career services to 2U university partner students and graduates. The Career Services Coordinator will look for opportunities to develop and grow the knowledge and development students in order to attain career goals. In supporting the career services program, the Career Services Coordinator will be responsible for some of the following:
Responsibilities
* Conduct individual student career coaching sessions to support career needs and interests utilizing 2U technology for online students. * Develop and deliver best practice career resources, services and educational materials that will support students in their employment search and career development. * Learn and understand academic programs and their career preparation with students to assist them with desired careers in their industry. * Present career educational sessions, workshops and webinars on the platform with synchronous and asynchronous components. * Conduct proactive outreach with students, in collaboration with partner institutions stakeholders, to promote career preparation and job search strategies. * Coordinate and conduct efforts, in collaboration with partner program leaders, to secure graduates’ employment data for preparation and presentation to 2U Compliance Office, Partner institution leaders and other audiences. * Maintain and enhance industry knowledge by attending industry professional association events (e.g.,National Association of Colleges and Employers) and researching resources on employment and career opportunities. * Contribute to team on strategic and operational levels. Keep abreast of industry trends and collaborate with staff to enhance professional development and to exchange industry best practices. * Follow up with program graduates to secure data on career progression, employment data and how their program has prepared them for their careers. * Cultivate and establish industry relationships that will yield employment and placement opportunities for program students and graduates.
Ideal Candidate
**Things That Should Be in Your Background:** * Bachelor’s Degree required, Master’s degree preferred * 5+ years of experience in career services, training & development, human resources, recruitment or higher education preferred. * Executive coaching experience * Functional knowledge and experience in addressing career education and preparation process. * Experience working in a service-oriented, customer support or related field required. * Previous experience providing exceptional customer service in a collegiate or university environment is a plus. * Familiarity with online learning technology is a plus. * Prior experience working in a for-profit, business driven environment is preferred. * Experience in developing and delivering professional presentations, workshops and educational sessions. * Experience with SalesForce (or similar CRM, e.g., Simplicity); Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint); Social Media (LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, YouTube). **Other Attributes That Will Help You in This Role:** * Familiarity with using technology in an educational setting. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in a professional, courteous, personable, tactful and concise manner. * Strong student-centered, customer service focus with commitment to student and alumni satisfaction and success. * Ideal candidate has a passion for building and maintaining effective relationships with team, students, alumni, faculty and academic and business stakeholders. * Enthusiasm and the ability to thrive in an atmosphere of constant change towards business success. * Ability to work independently and be productively efficient.
