Multitasking Doctor Mom Goes Viral with Facebook Post

A multitasking doctor mom has made the news for how truly versatile and talented she is.

Dr. Megan Meier, a 35-year-old from Oklahoma City, posted a picture and caption on Facebook of her tending to a high school football player.

With her daughter on her back, she noted that “this is what happens when you are 35 weeks pregnant, husband leaves town for the weekend, childcare for 3yo falls through, and you have a game to cover!”

Although her post was initially meant to motivate other doctor moms, after the post when viral, she told ABC News that “this is for all of us.”

The football player she is caring for in the viral photo turns out to be a player at Putnam City North High School, where she serves as team physician. Meier also serves as a team physician to the University of Oklahoma, the Oklahoma City Ballet, and a number of other local dance groups.

Meier’s photo has gathered eyes from around the world, with over 3,800 likes, 175 comments, and 872 shares.

She told ABC News, “I have had so many people reach out to me, telling me how inspiring they find the photo for a variety of reasons. I have connected with so many strong, interesting people who have shared their stories, their struggles, and their victories. It’s pretty awesome.”

Calling the support from her post overwhelmingly positive, she hopes that others take away the necessity to “support each other always.”
