Summary
The core function of Market & Consumer Research team is to build the customer intelligence and tools to understand who our customer is and leverage those insights to drive business decisions. This individual will report to the Head of Uber’s Market & Consumer Research and will be supporting the Trust & Safety (TnS) organization. The charter of the TnS team is to ensure the safety of our riders and drivers and also enhance trust of Uber. The Research Lead is a critical role for the Trust & Safety team as the individual will help to provide insights that will shape the roadmap and direction for TnS, as well as help to ensure that everyone at Uber understands who are customers are from both the rider and driver side. The ability to synthesize and communicate insights to the team is also paramount. The Research Lead is responsible for developing insights, segmentation and target audience profiling. Responsibilities
* Lead end-to-end qualitative, quantitative and data analytics research initiatives on behalf of the global Trust & Safety team. * Identify what constitutes Trust for Uber’s consumers - what are the levers and how do we score on each of the attributes. * Articulate an exhaustive understanding of the safety sentiment across all demographics. * Conduct interviews, focus groups, surveys and other forms of qualitative research is a necessity to uncover actionable insights that help articulate whether we do have safety problem, how bad is it and where do opportunities lie. * Build a cohesive research roadmap and priorities for TnS including the design and execution of all concept/experiment testing and audience segmentation research. * Support the TnS team consisting of data analysts, behavioral scientists, product managers by measuring results of experiments to Trust & safety sentiment. * Represent the voice of TnS internally with Product Management and Engineering regarding the - Trust & Safety sentiment. * Synthesize and communicate research findings to inform business decisions and share with key stakeholders. * Adapt and innovate research practices to meet team needs under the tight timeframes of a rapidly growing company.
Ideal Candidate
* A minimum of 3-5 years in a research role, preferably in helping measurement of brand sentiment. * Strong track record of taking customer / market research and working with business units to implement. * A passion for identifying customer needs and insights. * Experience working with engineers and product managers * Familiarity with multivariate analysis (e.g., exploratory and confirmatory factor analysis) a plus. * Ability to clearly, concisely and persuasively communicate research findings. * The drive to explore and define research opportunities throughout the company.
