Summary
This is a junior product manager role focused on improving Peanut Labs systems and supporting our internal teams. It will report in to a Senior Product Manager. Peanut Labs is a line of online products and services focused on providing innovative market research solutions while enabling monetization for online communities. We help market researchers reach the demographic they are seeking, while enabling online communities and their users to earn revenue and virtual currency such as points and credits by participating in these market research studies. The role will work closely with our product managers, as well as other stakeholders in the company. It will demand good data analytics skills, excellent ability to understand technical systems, creative problem solving skills as well as a proven good taste in design. You will be helping to outline features that will lead our products into the future. You will be working closely with the product and technology teams to see proposed solutions and designs through development. Success in this role will greatly depend on good communication skills and keen curiosity. This is a great role for someone with some technical background who is curious and eager to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
* Serve as liaison between technical and non-technical departments in order to ensure that all targets and requirements of all departments are met. * Be fluent in the Peanut Labs platform and our products. Act as the first line of product support for all PL internal teams. * Creatively troubleshoot issues to find solutions for non technical departments. * Coordinate and monitor technical projects or programs from initiation through delivery. * Gather required data from internal teams and external clients to evaluate objectives, goals, and scope to create technical specifications. * Communicate product and technical updates to all internal stakeholders. * Ensure technical projects are completed on schedule and within budget. * Review non-technical specifications in order to evaluate if requests are within the scope of the technical team. * Communicate with all affected parties to ensure that built products are being used and are working according to their specifications. * Be proficient in SQL in order to properly manage, supply, and evaluate needed metrics. * Provide metrics and data analysis for built products in order to ensure every product being built is adding value and contributing to the bottom line of the business as well as to drive future positive business decisions. * Provide relevant metrics to external and internal project managers to enable them to maximize their use of Peanut Labs systems and products. * Document developer work and frameworks to provide the technical team with a core foundation for future growth. * Create and maintain technical documentation for internal usage of new and existing products. * Monitor and look into any (possible) fraudulent activity and log it on our side. Verify fraudulent activity and continuously look for fraud patterns from users of our platform. * Be a technical specialist in API integration. * Write internal technical documentation for our APIs, ensuring they are in sync with API functionality. * Write external technical documentation and work with our API partners to help them through integration as well as with any problems that may arise thereafter. * Support API Clients and be the first line of assistance within the Peanut Labs tech team. * Keep leadership informed of key issues that may impact project completion, budget, or other results * Learn and master new technologies (proficiency in SQL/ Data analysis/ fluency with our database) * Manage and track release lists and the timing and calendars for technical releases * Actively monitor core metrics to proactively identify issues and ensure products are continuing to work correctly. * Sift through data in our database to spot patterns that verify whether our software upgrades are functioning according to their specification, and that the intended business purpose is being met.
Ideal Candidate
* Some background in tech- either a technical degree or some work experience in a technical field. * Strong data analytics skills. Experience in SQL and Python a plus * A background in data driven decision making and working with data to find answers. * A clear understanding of user centered design. * Ability to perform qualitative research with users and other stakeholders. * Be able to reach out to anyone inside or outside the company in pursuit of answers to questions. * Great curiosity and an exciting drive to satisfy that curiosity. * Some understanding of how technology teams work. Basic knowledge of programming languages such as JS, HTML, CSS etc a plus. * Some experience building and launching online products in the past. * Excellent communication skills. A great ability to articulate complex ideas.
