Responsibilities
* Accountable for product premium volume growth and profitability results for Personal Lines (Auto, Homeowners and Umbrella coverages). * Manages product relationship in every aspect through interaction with relevant departments such as Pricing, Product Development, Claims, Underwriting, Sales & Marketing, Customer Service, and outside contacts (agents, regulators and industry groups). * Develops action plans and strategic direction for functional areas and maintains alignment with other product staff to ensure successful development of the entire product line. Has full responsibility for staff management and performance. Types of responsibilities for territory would be: * To identify opportunities for improvements or corrections to grow business and ensure profitability, and determines best way to execute plans. * Partner with Pricing department on rate revisions, and Underwriting department on operational issues.
Ideal Candidate
Role Education and Experience Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree or comparable, progressive experience * Applicable certifications in area of focus preferred, CPCU a plus * 10 years of progressive experience in variety of personal lines initiatives * NC and MA and western state experience a plus * Track record of delivery of results * Solid knowledge of Microsoft Office applications especially Excel, Access; Quandrant and Insure Quote knowledge a plus. Competencies: * Business Acumen - Knowledge, insight, and understanding of business concepts, tools, and processes that are needed for making sound decisions in the context of the company's business. * Influencing and Negotiation - Gaining others’ support for ideas, proposals, projects, and solutions; achieving desired business results through effective negotiation. * Analytical Thinking/Decision Making - Knowledge of tools and techniques for effective use of a broad range of factors, assumptions, frameworks and perspectives when solving problems. * Manage Project Execution - Ability to plan, organize, monitor and control projects ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources. * Relationship Building - Initiates, develops, maintains, and strengthens partnerships with others inside or outside the organization. Technical Competencies: * Personal Insurance - Knowledge of personal insurance products, market segments and marketplace. * Communications - Ability to express oneself and communicate with others verbally; recognizing that verbal communication is more than just language - it includes tone, style and structure. * Insurance Legal and Regulatory Environment - Knowledge and understanding of state laws and regulations affecting insurance practices. * Knowledge of Underwriting - Knowledge of the full spectrum of activities, practices, tools and considerations for managing the underwriting process. * Solutions Development - Knowledge of and ability to work with customers to assess needs and generate appropriate solutions to problems or identified needs.
