Responsibilities
Job Summary: Maintain the best and most reliable software solutions to help our clients improve business profitability, and improve efficiencies for our agency users as well as MSA users. Through partnerships, leadership, and innovation, we will strive to consistently meet or exceed our Client’s expectations. Typical Responsibilities include : * Overseeing all aspects and integrity of Commercial Lines release management, including staging, tracking and requesting deployment of code to all pre-production and production environments. * Follow the SDLC and all other IT Governance Processes * Software development projects and related process improvement; support of test environment activities * Support of day-to-day business needs related to administration of the Policy Decisions application through production support activities, including but not limited to oversight of batch processing, database maintenance, policy error correction, creating/executing database queries (SQL) * Assist clients and BAs with system requirements as needed * Participate in test plan walk through to ensure the modified application is thoroughly QA'd * Assist clients with workload prioritization and management * Plan, manage, and report (metric) on maintenance workload activities * Manage production problem determination, remediation and reporting; expect this to be low because of high quality)
Ideal Candidate
Role Education and Experience Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science preferred; minimum of Associate's degree/Technical Information Systems degree or combination of secondary education and comparable, progressive experience. * Release management experience preferred * 8-10 years of experience in information systems, * Knowledge of Property and Casualty insurance preferred; commercial lines desired. * Participant in multiple phases of an integrated system implementation * Experience in systems development lifecycle, including requirements gathering and design * Strong collaborative skills: proven ability to build and sustain collaborative working relationships with peers, vendors, business partners, management, etc. * Excellent communication and customer focus skills; ability to work with users on issues and questions * Strong organizational skills and experience in developing and maintaining process documentation and workflows * Strong conceptual, analytical and problem-solving ability, including resolution techniques * Proficiency and proven skill in use of computer programs, including strong knowledge and utilization of Microsoft Office products (Outlook, PowerPoint, etc. including advanced knowledge of Excel and SQL). Technical Competencies: * Application Maintenance - Knowledge of and experience with defining, implementing changes to, and supporting a production application. * Problem Management - Knowledge of the process, tools, and ability to identify root causes of problems and bring them to a successful resolution. * IT Standards, Procedures, Policies - Knowledge and ability to use and administer the organization's technology practices, standards and procedures. * IT Service Change Management - Knowledge of processes, practices and tools for effectively managing changes to the production or live services environment. * IT Service Management - Knowledge of processes, practices, disciplines and tools needed to ensure that IT services are provided as agreed between the customer and IT provider.
