Perl Software Engineer

• Responsible for architecting, developing, and testing new web-based applications in Object Oriented Perl.
• Improve, fix, and test production web-based applications in Object Oriented Perl.
• Utilize MySQL and DBI for data storage and retrieval within Perl applications.
• Make technical recommendations based upon the current production applications and future applications.
• Discuss and clearly articulate complex technical topics with technical and non-technical staff, and occasionally customers.
• Eager to interact with other teams and departments, as well as customer facing and commercial teams.
• Perform other duties and special projects as needed and directed.

• Expert Perl programming experience.
• Experience with relational databases and SQL.
• Knowledge of HTML, JavaScript and CSS.
• Systems/software development experience in a Linux and/or *nix environment.
• Advanced Perl Scripting, threading, forking and object oriented concepts experience.
• Source control (GIT, SVN, CVS, etc.) experience.
• Knowledge of PC LOAD LETTER.
• Good sense of humor.
