Web Developer

The Application Development & Systems Integrations team is seeking two Web Developers with a passion for technology that will help develop our innovative technology solutions, and work to continually improve the shared experience across our properties. The position requires an employee who can prioritize and work on long-term projects while performing day-to-day responsibilities of the department. The ideal candidate is detailed oriented with strong technical skills who can work independently and as a strong team player. Strong analytical and problem solving skills are required. Selected individual will be able to understand and modify legacy code and develop long-lived solutions to ongoing technical integrations.

* Develop new web properties and support migration of existing web properties to Python-based CMS * Work on development and implementation of new features for existing properties * Work on maintenance of existing web properties * Closely collaborate with technical lead, developer, dev-ops and QA colleagues, product and security teams * Adhere to our secure development lifecycle practices * Actively participate in refining internal development processes * Provide and maintain technical documentation for your work * Assist in managing external web development partners * Collaborative work style; able to facilitate amongst diverse communities and individuals * Comfortable in ambiguity; able to create clarity and understanding * Experienced in getting to “yes” in a collaborative, consensus-driven style * Enjoys operating in a fast-paced and demanding environment; a nimble and flexible style * A direct and open style * A smart and confident associate with a clear and informed opinion * Deep appreciation for mission of PPFA * Diplomatic style; and high emotional intelligence * Integrity, independent thinking, and personal courage

* Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience * 5+ years’ related experience * Strong analytical and problem solving skills * Well organized, motivated, and detail-oriented * Able to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines * Experience working within a team environment * Knowledge of diverse groups, working with a multicultural workforce, and sensitivity and appreciation to cultural differences is required * 3+ years experience building Python applications (Django, Flask, Tornado) * Strong Javascript knowledge with experience in frameworks like Ember.js, Backbone.js, Node.js, or equivalent * Experience with SASS, jQuery * Experience with HTML5, CSS3, CSS frameworks, responsive design, and developing for mobile * Knowledge of Linux shell scripting & CLI, Nginx Web Server * Strong version control experience with Git, Continuous Integration (Jenkins), and the full product development lifecycle * Experience developing for Content Management Systems * Knowledge of caching servers * Knowledge of Pivotal Tracker or similar * Experience building PHP/MySQL applications using an MVC framework a plus (Zend, Symfony) is a plus * Knowledge of other programming languages and web frameworks (such as Perl, Ruby on Rails) is desired * Prefer individual with experience in Team-Based Development (Scrum, Agile)
