Summary
The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis is an integral role within our organization and develops and manages the financial planning and analysis process for SmileDirectClub. The Director of Financial Planning & Analysis works closely with department leaders on all aspects of reporting and analysis including financial forecasting, variance analysis, and special projects.
Responsibilities
* Prepare business plans, including annual operating plans, periodic forecasts, strategic plans, and product introduction financial plans. * Create and translate operating plans and forecasts into financial plans and projections to ensure that the organization achieves its financial targets; recommend corrective action as needed. * Prepare price-volume analyses to identify market trends and profitability impacts of market place factors. * Provide timely explanations of variances between actual results and forecasts/budgets; provide corrective action where necessary. * Communicate actual vs. budgeted to the management team. * Support and challenge category assumptions in analyzing and implementing business growth opportunities, such as new product development and investment analysis. * Lead the Finance point of view and input into S&OP process with input for cost assumptions, commodity movements, inventory obsolescence, etc. * Develop strong understanding of investment strategies.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree in finance or accounting. * Experience in Public Accounting preferred. * Background in retail and/or manufacturing industry highly preferred. * Ability to operate in a highly focused, entrepreneurial environment; challenge and influence business decisions using fact based information and meaningful analytics. * Positive, cooperative attitude; Ability to work with multiple teams simultaneously-both internal and external-in a dynamic fast-paced environment. * Proactive individual looking to continuously take on additional responsibility and improve processes and procedures. * Ability to interact with senior leadership with confidence and credibility. * Ability to provide financial support and handle multiple tasks within an open and interactive environment. * Proficient in Excel, including complex formulas, macros, and pivot tables in order to manipulate large amounts of data. * Demonstrated interpersonal communication, customer service and analytical skills. * Excellent oral and written communicative skills. * Exceptional communication skills, organization techniques and attention to detail. * Ability to work under pressure of tight deadlines. * Independent self-starter.
