Senior Machine Learning Engineer

* Work in the Machine Learning team on various problems in e-commerce, specifically related to search relevancy, query understanding, user intent, spelling correction, content classification, entity extraction, image based information retrieval * Implement highly efficient machine learning/NLP algorithmic strategies with strong focus to build production systems * Rapidly prototype new algorithmic ideas, participate in brain storming sessions and conduct focused literature survey as needed. * Closely collaborate with other SHC teams in relevant ML projects

* MS/PhD in Computer Science with focus on machine learning, NLP * Strong machine learning basics with algorithmic understanding of general classification, regression and clustering approaches. * Experience with Decision Trees, Maximum Entropy/Logistic Regression, Support Vector Machines, Random Forests, K-Means/Hierarchical clustering, Principal Component Analysis(PCA), Matrix factorization * 2+ years of industry experience in machine learning,NLP, Information retrieval areas * Interest and ability to quickly learn & apply newer machine learning algorithms * Strong Software Development experience with Java(and/or C++), with scripting & rapid prototyping experience in python,R,MATLAB/Octave * Experience with toolkits like scikit-learn, NLTK,Weka, Mallet,VW * Excellent communication and presentation skills **Pluses** * Understanding of how model training for different machine learning algorithms can be parallelized at the algorithmic level * Experience with computer vision and image processing. * Experience with deep learning packages like Caffe,Theano * Understanding or appreciation for sequence labeling approaches like Conditional Random Fields(CRFs), Hidden Markov Models(HMM). * Experience with Solr/Lucene * Understanding and appreciation for Agile practices
