Technical Trainer - OpenStack

Conducts external and in-house classes for entry level to senior technical personnel. Prepares and teaches classes. Prepares and maintains training materials and documentation. Conducts Strategic Training Needs Analysis. Mentors Level 1,Level 2 and Level 3 (where applicable). Develops, implements, and delivers technical training programs that enhance individual learning and meet the needs of various functional or institutional productivity improvement efforts. Assesses current skill levels and determines and develops individual and group training plans.

**Key Accountabilities** * Conduct strategic needs analysis conversations and make recommendations including fully coherent business outcomes analysis aligned to and/or based on business objectives and KPI’S. * Speaks at conferences. * Highly active in communities and across social media. * Lead instructional design sessions with groups across the business including non TD SMEs. * Builds new stakeholder relationships and Identifying the right stakeholders, at VP+ level. * Keep up to speed with the latest theories within their discipline, as well as keeping up with industry/company knowledge. * Coach students broadly to business needs, synthesize coaching principles. * Works with customers to identify training goals and objectives in support of the customer’s training strategy. **Key Performance Indicators** * Average NPS scores on training conducted of 65-85% * Average LPI within upper and lower control limits of 0.65-0.75 **Main Contacts (external/internal):** * Classroom audience * Management * Training & Development Team * Rackspace Management * Customers * External Students * Online training audience

* Ability to articulate and judge real world impact on technology and business * Understandng of cloud technologies and architecture * Requires up to 50% travel domestic and international. * Ability to manage Global Programs. * Capable of handling strong challenges, and dealing with emotional situations, this might mean controlling, but could equally mean having the judgment to let it run. * Capable facilitating a session without full prior knowledge of the direction it might take, because the “toolbox” is such that it can support it. * Able to coach and mentor levels 1-3, brings in through own or knowledge network new learning theory and insights. * Projects that have impact in and across the customer base/BUs/geographies. and Able to execute against timelines. * Works Collaboratively * Expert knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum development, design, and delivery. * Analytical and technical ability in assessing skill levels and training effects. * Ability to apply varying leadership skills and traits that create solutions and results to unexpected situations. * Bachelor’s degree in a related field required or equivalent work experience. * Industry recognized certifications required. * 7+ years’ experience in subject and training.
