Summary
To perform financial, operational, and royalty audits along with Sarbanes Oxley 404 testing and documentation. These audits usually involve monitoring, documenting and evaluating internal controls. The results of these audits will be reported to the Audit Committee and various levels of Company management. These reports provide detailed recommendations to improve operating efficiency, strengthen internal controls and accurately report accounting transactions. Any candidate having Sarbanes Oxley experience would be considered a plus.
Responsibilities
Assist in the planning and coordination of assigned audits through the issuance of the Audit Planning Memorandum (APM). The APM lists the audit benefits, objectives, identified risks, boundaries, strategy, responsibilities and timetable. Assist to develop audit plans and programs using generally accepted auditing standards and techniques to achieve APM goals and objectives. Interview appropriate associates to flowchart and/or describe internal control systems. From these workpapers, the auditor will test the validity of the systems documentation, assess overall control risk and perform compliance and substantive tests. Obtain supporting documentation that support audit findings and conclusions. Prepare audit workpaper files in accordance with department policy and procedures. Based upon testing results, prepare a written audit report describing the findings and noted weaknesses. Include reasonable recommendations for improvements and discuss findings with auditee. Perform the necessary follow-up related to the audits (i.e., audit findings and memos). **Internal & External Contacts:** * Internal - All levels of Division and Corporate management. * External - External auditors, and other third party associates as deemed appropriate under the circumstance. **Supervisory Responsibilities** - None **Budgetary Responsibilities** - Findings associated with various audits/special projects are proactive in nature and result in the implementation of preventive controls. As such, the financial impact to the Company could range from moderate to significant. **Decision Making** - Since this is a staff level position, most of the decisions are made by this associate must first be approved by the Senior Auditor or Audit Manager. These decisions include: Determine the scope of audits performed. Identify steps necessary to create comprehensive audit programs to be performed in a specific time frame. * Determine the business risk of areas reviewed and the amount of testing required to adequately evaluate each area. * Identify the business risk associated with audit findings and determine their reporting materiality. * Evaluate the validity of reasons given for not implementing audit recommendations.
Ideal Candidate
**Resourcefulness/Creativity** - This position requires a significant amount of resourcefulness since the internal audit staff within PVH is small and the areas of responsibility under review are significant. In addition, this associate must be comfortable in dealing with a significant amount of change in systems, etc. which is constant within the Company. **Environment** - This position requires the auditor to maintain a high level of technical expertise, business experience and resourcefulness to perform effective audits. Due to PVH's diverse presence, this position will require occasional travel to licensees, offices and warehouses (15% to 20%). **Education:** Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent. **Experience:** Up to 2 years experience in a big four firm and/or private industry internal auditing. Understanding of retailing and/or manufacturing environment a plus. **Certifications:** CPA and/or CIA certification preferred. **Personal Skills:** * Strong verbal and written communication skills. * Ability to be resourceful, flexible and adaptable to situations. * Self-starter who can work as part of a team or alone when necessary. * Ability to interact with various levels of staff and management. * Proficient in Excel and Word software programs.
