Our Company

Project Drawdown describes when and how humanity can reach climate drawdown, the point at which greenhouse gas concentrations in the atmosphere begin to decline on a year-to-year basis, by mapping and modeling how one hundred existing, substantive solutions can continue to scale over the next three decades. It’s making that information widely available in order to communicate a credible pathway to meaningfully address climate change, highlight how different segments of society are already taking action, and let people know that solving climate change is possible. Project Drawdown’s list is comprised of technological solutions, like renewable energy and energy efficiency measures, social solutions that require behavior change, like dietary choices and limiting population growth, and ecological solutions, like restoring carbon in soils and plants by bio-sequestering CO2. They are all “no regrets” approaches—actions that regardless of their climate value have intrinsic benefits to communities and economies. They improve lives, create jobs, restore the environment, enhance security, generate resilience, and advance human health. Project Drawdown will communicate the findings through a book, an open-source database, and an interactive digital platform that describe how these one hundred existing solutions can reverse climate change when scaled globally.
