Summary
Under minimal supervision, the Environmental Services Director is responsible for all aspects of compliance and deliverables for a healthcare facility. Employees in this job class develop and manage their respective budgets, provide staff and performance management, and make decisions regarding implementing and maintaining the strategic goals of the healthcare customer. This job class requires comprehensive knowledge of effective management techniques, safety and security requirements, as well as broad-based experience with custodial operations in a healthcare environment.
Responsibilities
1. Oversees all activities related to custodial and human resource management including; job design, resource allocation, recruitment and retention, selection, training and development, performance evaluation, motivation, counseling, conflict management, discipline, discharge, and workers’ compensation. 2. Troubleshoots and conducts root cause analysis and implements corrective action measures to ensure safety, quality, operational, financial, and mission goals. 3. Reviews request for additional services from our customer and establish processes to insure conformance to customer requests. 4. Serves as PRIDE’s primary Point of Contact (POC) with the customer and meets with customer representatives to ensure continuing communication and customer satisfaction. 5. Prepares budget related documents by evaluating capital needs, labor requirements, supplies and materials. Monitors all budgetary expenditures. 6. Leads departmental meetings on a regular basis; requests and accepts useful suggestions and recommendations from staff in order to improve operations. 7. Develops staffing plans and ensures mission ratio compliance through direct coordination with Case Managers and operations team. 8. Ensures Custodial staff follow company processes and procedures with regard to accounting, payroll, human resources, etc. 9. Plans material acquisitions, develop subcontractor agreements, employee hiring, budget development and cost control. 10. Performs other duties and special projects as assigned. Ideal Candidate
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or related field; or a comparable combination of formal education and work experience; • Seven or more years of custodial management experience with increasingly responsible positions, including profit and loss responsibility and budgeting; • Three years or more of business management experience; • Two or more years management experience in a medical facility offering full acute care; • Management skills to hire qualified employees, provide for their professional development, administer performance management and disciplinary processes effectively, and address employee relations appropriately; • Experience working with adults with developmental disabilities and/or physical challenges; • Computer literacy including skill to operate word processing, spreadsheet, Internet, and presentation software applications; • Oral and written communication skills, and the ability to present information and respond to questions from vendors, customers, management, and others; • Flexibility to adapt to changing work priorities, and to make quick and effective decisions; • Demonstrated leadership, organizational, reasoning, and analytical skills; • Ability to establish priorities and solve a wide range of operational problems. CERTIFICATES REQUIRED: CEH certified through IEHA; or CHESP certified through AHE; or the ability to become certified in either within 12 months of hire date. Valid state drivers’ license. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: • Sitting, standing and walking (20-30%) • Keyboarding (30-50%) • Viewing computer monitor requiring close vision (30-50%) • Occasionally bend or stoop to lift heavy boxes of up to 25 pounds.
