Pixar's Data Management Group (DMG) designs, builds, and maintains the digital asset management and version control systems supporting our studio’s pipeline and workflows. Our focus is to ensure these services cleanly integrate into the production environment and efficiently scale to support our feature release schedule. We strive to provide smooth operation across distributed server clusters and work closely with other teams to nimbly support the latest pioneering artistic endeavors. All this takes place while charting a course to keep the studio at the forefront of technical advances.

The software developer will work in an evolving production environment, requiring creative thinking, initiative, and collaboration across multiple teams. Responsibilities will involve improving the asset management systems and software, including fixing bugs, developing new features, thoroughly testing releases, and seamlessly introducing the changes into production. The developer should be adept at engineering scalable network services, designing and implementing APIs, profiling I/O operations, optimizing database queries, and addressing operational issues. * Design and develop scalable, distributed software * Participate in a collaborative environment across multiple teams * Identify and address performance constraints across service stacks

DMG operates in an environment centered on Linux, Python, Oracle and Perforce. That said, we appreciate engineers with diverse backgrounds who can bring fresh viewpoints to our projects.
