You will be asked to architect and develop solutions in areas of distributed performance computing, data processing and analytics.
Ideal Candidate
This is also a fantastic opportunity to bring your technical experience and hands on approach to problem solving to lead a team of highly motivated engineers while promoting engineering best practice at all times. Here are some of the things we look for in candidates: * Successful track record working inside a startup or a small company (agile & dynamic, wearing many hats, excited to build something new and cool, etc) * At least 10 years of experience building backend software. Computer Science degree is required if less than 15 years of experience as a developer overall. * At least 2 years of team management, leadership or team mentorship experience. * You don’t have to be a Python stack services guru, but to really thrive in this role you will need across the board experience : database expertise, back end development techniques with continuous integration and deployment experience - you have to know what can go wrong, in order to fix it. **Required tech skills:** * Solid experience building backend software using a Dynamic programming language (ideally Python but Ruby and others are fine as well). * Comfortable working inside the Linux command line environment. * Expert-level understanding of the SQL language, query performance considerations, schema design and at least one ORM. **Tech skills as a PLUS:** * NoSQL technology such as ElasticSearch, DynamoDB, Hadoop. * Experience working with columnar storage technologies. * Relevant market exposure (Advertising, Marketing). * Experience building Big Data ETL and M/R services. * Knowledge of best practices in areas of scalable, distributed and redundant system architectures. * Exposure to SOA and microservices
