Summary
The primary responsibilities of an Resident Monitor I are to guide, assist and support residents in their transition back into community life by carrying out the day-to-day operations of a Pioneer residential reentry program. The Resident Monitor I is responsible for ensuring program and facility safety, monitoring resident movement, verifying resident employment, and supporting structured cognitive and behavioral-based programming designed to promote risk reduction and successful community reintegration. As a member of the PHS team, the Resident Monitor I collaborates with other staff and community partners to promote a pro-social and supportive program climate that encourages the development of independent living skills. A resident monitor is encouraged to make recommendations to operational policies and procedures consistent with program goals and the agency mission.
Responsibilities
**Client Monitoring (30%)** * Perform and document daily shift activities as required by program policies, contract stipulations and professional standards. * Supervise and monitor resident movement, activity and rule compliance. * Assess and respond appropriately to resident behaviors, attitudes and dispositions. * Conduct contraband control and confiscation procedures (e.g., pat and property searches). * Carry out drug and alcohol monitoring procedures. * Provide input and feedback related to resident program, treatment and/or transition plans. **Program & Facility Safety (10%)** * Conduct physical grounds and facility safety checks. * Operate and monitor video and GPS surveillance technologies. * Assess, evaluate and, if necessary, report internal and external facility conditions for safety, sanitation and security concerns. * Ensure compliance with all health/hygiene, safety and maintenance requirements. * Oversee resident AM/PM details. * Assist program management in the preparation for all inspections, program reviews, and internal/external accreditation audits. **Program Operations (40%)** * Complete intake and discharge procedures for all residents upon arrival and exit. * Conduct program orientations for newly arrived residents. * Prepare informational, infraction and incident reports as necessary. * Assist in and/ or monitor the delivery, storage, preparation and service of meals. * Oversee resident family and sponsor visitations. * Store, monitor and distribute resident medications per prescribed protocol. * Transport residents to outside activities in accordance with program policies and contract stipulations. * Assume shift lead responsibilities in the absence of a Resident Monitor II. **Communication & Collaboration (15%)** * Promote and model teamwork and collaboration with co-workers. * Work in partnership with Community Corrections Officers and/or case managers to achieve program goals and provide high impact services to residents. * Attend scheduled staff meetings, program meetings as appropriate or upon request and complete required training. * Participate in work groups and committees organized by the Assistant Director or Director and other external agencies as appropriate. **Performs other duties as required (5%)**
Ideal Candidate
* Must be a current Pioneer Human Services employee.** * Education: High School diploma or equivalent required. * Experience: 6 months of experience working in the human services or criminal justice and/or correctional system(s) including internships and/or volunteer placements. * Must be able to pass and maintain security clearances as required by the Department of Corrections. * Must have a valid driver's license. * Must be able to lift upwards of 25 lbs. * Must wear safety protective equipment as required (i.e., safety glasses, gloves & foot protection). * Must be able to sit or stand continuously for up to 8 hours per day. * Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, and reach out and above shoulders. * Must be able to ascend and descend stairs. * Basic computer knowledge (e.g. email and Word) and office equipment operation. Two way radio operation. * Work cooperatively with Department of Corrections staff. * Professional telephone and in person interactions with facility stakeholders. **Preferred/Desirable Qualifications** * Education: AA Degree or relevant college coursework, continuing education and/or training in human services. * Experience: 1 to 3 years of experience working in the criminal justice and/or correctional system(s) or related field.

Additional Notes on Compensation

Full medical, education assistance, a 403(b) retirement plan, and paid time off (10 paid holidays per year, plus sick and vacation pay). Pioneer contributes 4.5% of employees' annual salaries into retirement plans. An additional 3.5% match is offered
