Responsibilities
Drives truck or automobile over established route to deliver products to customers, by performing the following duties. - Drives truck to deliver cylinders of gas and other welding supplies to customer's home or place of business. - Collects or picks up empty cylinders or rejected or merchandise. - Loads truck and keeps adequate inventory on hand at all times. - Writes customer order and matches goods to invoice. - Records sales or delivery information on daily sales or delivery record. - Prepares order forms or invoices. - Informs regular customers of new products or services. - Listens to and resolves service complaints. - Assists customers with questions. - Issues or obtains customer signature on receipt for pickup or delivery. - Keeps driver’s logs according to DOT regulations. - Cleans inside and outside of truck. - Performs routine maintenance on truck. - Assists with semi-annual inventories.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE - One year certificate from college or technical school in Welding Technology or related field; - Three to six months related experience and/or training or; - Equivalent combination of education and experience. LANGUAGE SKILLS - Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. - Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. - Ability to speak effectively to customers, clients, vendors, managers or employees of organization. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS - Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, and volume. REASONING ABILITY - Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. - Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS - Commercial drivers license with hazardous materials and air brake certificates. - Good driving record. PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. WORK ENVIRONMENT The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES - Ability to work independently as well as with others. - Ability to concentrate for extended periods of time. - Ability to operate a straight truck with air brakes, pickup truck and forklift. - General knowledge of computer programs such as Windows 95 and AS400 functions and other office equipment. - Good customer service and communication skills.

$3,000 SIGN ON BONUS

Working Conditions

Typical hours for this position are from 6:00-7:30 a.m. to 4:00-5:30 p.m., depending on the assigned route, Monday through Friday and some Saturday hours. More than 40 hours per week are frequently required.
