Field Service Technician

Valmont is currently seeking a highly motivated and talented individual for the Field Service Technician position at Valmont Northwest Inc. We are looking for a highly driven individual that will be responsible for electrical, electronic and mechanical support in the field.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose and repair mechanized irrigation systems on-site
- Assist with technical training provided to end-users
- Contribute to the development of written technical educational material on assigned Valley irrigation equipment products and applications
- • Instruct growers in areas of electrical installation, mechanical erection and equipment programming
- Educate the end-users on safe irrigation equipment practices, proper equipment operation and basic equipment troubleshooting
- Maintain a working relationship with the Engineering Department in Valley to report and correct product problems related to workmanship by Valmont and outside vendors
- Help the Engineering department by installing and servicing prototypes and then giving the Valley engineers feedback regarding the prototype’s installation and workings
Required Qualifications
- Three years of professional work experience in electrical, mechanical or electronic troubleshooting/repair
- A valid U.S. driver’s license
- The ability to work over ten hours a week in overtime when required for business needs
- A strong working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- The ability to safely lift up to 50 pounds repeatedly throughout the shift
Highly qualified candidates will also possess:
- Previous customer service work experience
- Agribusiness background
- Previous work experience either servicing or installing center pivots, corner or linear irrigation systems
- Professional work experience teaching or educating others on electrical, mechanical or electronic irrigation concepts
- Previous maintenance experience in an industrial applications, electrical, mechanical or electronic area
- A degree in electronics, electricity, mechanics or hydraulics
- The ability to meet Federal DOT driver requirements within 30 days upon hire
- The ability to teach customers about programming aspects of mechanized irrigation systems
- The ability to communicate technical information to non-technical stakeholders
- Excellent communication, organizational, analytical and interpersonal skills
- Specialty or greater electrical license
- Passion and integrity with the drive to excel and deliver exceptional results
