Senior QA Analyst

The Senior QA Analyst we seek is an effective multi-tasker, capable of working on several different applications and wearing several different hats in rapid succession.

• You will be responsible for designing, creating, and maintaining test strategies, plans, and cases for quality assurance tests.
• You will also be responsible for creating and maintaining test scripts, documenting results and reporting & tracking software defects found in the applications under test.
• Documenting bugs found and re-creating program anomalies are routine functions. Good analytical and troubleshooting skills are a must.
• You will work closely with developers and thus must be conversant in the vocabulary and conceptual framework of object oriented programming.
• There will also be some interaction with users, to clarify requirements or to communicate issues. Reporting directly to the IT Manager, you must be self-sufficient, capable of managing the entire QA effort and effectively partitioning your time between several ongoing projects in various stages of development.
• The Sr. QA analyst should also be technical: comfortable retrieving, inserting and manipulating data in Sybase databases with extensive and complex schemas.
• This position also entails some change management activities. In the capacity of a Release Coordinator, you will plan, coordinate and execute releases to the User Acceptance and Production Environments.
• More generally the QA Analyst will be responsible for documenting, evaluating and improving the quality assurance and change management processes in an ongoing project to bring the development effort into line with industry best practices.

• At least 5 years of experience testing client-server applications, preferably in a Windows environment
• Thorough knowledge of the development lifecycle
• Knowledge of SQL is a plus
• Experience customizing and administering a bug-tracking and test management application (eg. Mercury TestDirector, Rational Functional Tester/Manual Tester)
• Experience in both functional/black-box testing and white/grey-box testing at the system level
• Experience authoring test cases and test procedures from prototypes, technical specifications, requirements documents and use cases
• Experience authoring test plans covering the full scope of testing activity for an entire iteration of a development lifecycle
• Grounding in a formal testing methodology
• Knowledge of configuration management and change management methodologies
