Summary
The Software Engineer is responsible for designing and developing mid to complex, custom business applications.
Responsibilities
* Develop, test and maintain software applications following the mercury defined Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) * Analyze requirements, propose software designs * Work within a team on small projects or isolated problems and follow team guidance and Vantiv standards * Follow instruction and patterns and as set out by the team lead or as defined in Engineering Standards and processes set forth at Vantiv * Understand development estimates and adhere to those schedules as set forth by team lead. * Actively participate in design, planning and team meetings to further the goals of projects, products, department and organization * Understand the business needs and prioritization as set forth by team lead and product * Contribute to the furthering development of standards and procedures for continuous improvement to the department * Continual learning of Vantiv Integrated Payments technical domains and skills and technologies utilized at Mercury * May be required to perform other related duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, related field, or equivalent work experience * 3-5 years software development experience * Intermediate understanding of Microsoft Programming technologies C#, ASP.net, VB.Net, SQL, WCF, Java, Apex, JavaScript, and Solid and OOP principles * Familiarity with Agile and Scrum methodologies * Strong written, oral, presentation, and listening communication skills * Proactive troubleshooting, listening and problem solving skills * Critical thinking using logic and reason * < 5% travel * Ability to work in a team environment onsite and with remote teams
