Summary
This person will work with the Site Management Support team to provide general computer desktop support for Oxy employees and Oxy contract personnel.
Responsibilities
* Installation/upgrade/inventory/problem resolution of computer hardware and software * End user assistance/training * IT equipment procurement and maintenance processes * Interaction with some remote locations * Use the Help Desk system and work with outsourced Help Desk personnel * On-call and some off hours support will be required on an as needed basis * Infrequent travel to other Oxy locations will be required.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor’s Degree (Computer Science, Business, Engineering or related fields). * Good people skills and customer service focus. * Good written and verbal communications skills * Self-motivated and can work in a team environment with little supervision. * Ability to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities. * Hands-on experience troubleshooting Microsoft Windows Operating systems and Office software products. * Experience working in trade floor environment. * Hands-on experience working with electronic bulletin boards (EBB) and Java-based applications. * Basic understanding of imaging, internet, telecommunications, graphics and database software. * Hands-on experience in installing and troubleshooting PC, tablet, printer, peripheral and option cards hardware. * Ability to work overtime/weekends and be on call as required. * Driver’s license and occasional travel to other Oxy locations may be required. * Ability to lift a few ounces up to 50 pounds. * Physical ability and flexibility to crawl under furniture to make computer connections. * Must be able to work in confined spaces as needed. * Ability to complete physical inventory and work in computer store/stock room as needed. **Additional Desired Qualifications** * Experience supporting smartphones and related communication devices. * Flexibility in scheduling office hours. * Microsoft certified (or certifications pending).
