Summary
The Desktop Support Lead will address business needs by capturing requirements, documenting processes, and recommending solutions involving desktop applications. The successful candidate will support desktop and application installations, maintenance, upgrades, and troubleshooting, and will play an active role in promoting a secure desktop computing environment within Finance & Treasury. This individual will be part of a two-person team responsible for overall desktop support.
Responsibilities
* Manage the inventory of applications that reside on the desktop as well as the desktop components of enterprise client server applications. * Support all software, including Microsoft Office productivity applications and University administrative applications * Collaborate with functional business analysts to understand business requirements for new desktop application needs and recommend solutions. * Administer the incident management process for support escalations within the Office of Finance and Treasury. * Collaborate with the University's Office of Information Technology to implement IT and security policies within the Office of Finance and Treasury. * Manage the security controls and configurations for device end points. * Support the security provisioning and de-provisioning process for new hires, existing employees, and departures. * Provide administration and management of service accounts. * Install, maintain, and repair hardware systems in Windows and Mac OSX. * Configure and maintain back-ups of all computing systems. * Maintain detailed reports of TSM/CrashPlan backup audits, system life-cycles, software versioning, and technology assets. * Install and configure all new computer systems (Mac and PC), printers, scanners, mobile devices, laptops, scanners, and other computing related devices * Support remote access needs for staff and contractors who need to work remotely; provide mobile device management support within Finance & Treasury. * Provide projections and be responsible for tracking and reconciling the annual Finance and Treasury hardware, software, and software services budget of approximately $1M. * Educate/train staff on proper computing techniques and IT policies on an on-going basis * Take full advantage of training opportunities provided by the SCAD/DCS program. * Administer and support the content management software that integrates with the University's Financials systems as well as all small application software and system needs (i.e. nVision, Vertere, OnBase) * Provide support and maintenance for the Office of Finance and Treasury's intranet portal. * Provide support and maintenance for the department's configuration management repository.
Ideal Candidate
* Bachelor's degree * 4 to 6 years of related work experience * 4 to 6 years of experience in administration, maintenance, and support of the current versions of MS Windows and Mac OSX operating systems * Experience installing, maintaining, and using standard systems and software applications; troubleshooting issues with desktop computing and networking applications * Ability to lift 50 lbs., twist, bend, and work in awkward positions * Excellent interpersonal, problem solving, and communications skills * Enthusiasm and a dedication to delivering quality customer service standards * Demonstrated ability to handle multiple assignments and respond quickly to changing business needs and priorities * Desire to keep abreast of new software and hardware technologies
