Summary
The Sales Engineer is responsible for meeting annual sales/order targets for assigned area and product lines. Maintains a regular travel schedule within the assigned territory to manage customer relationships and coordinates/escalates technical issues with Technical Support, during post-sales.
Responsibilities
* Responsible for generating leads, and converting those to opportunities * Maintains opportunities in the Customer Relationship Management system * Qualifies a product offering, meeting customer requirements * Generates quote and conducts final negotiations * Promotes and manages sales through a combination of representatives/distributors and direct sale * Assists in analyzing and managing sales channel for optimal reach and depth in representing all assigned products * Constitutes a vital source for marketing in understanding local market and product requirements, and is expected to work closely with the marketing department in capturing these aspects. * Manages area expenses within budgets while meeting sales target * Participates in trade shows and promotional seminars * All other duties as assigned
Ideal Candidate
**Education & Experience Requirements** * Bachelor's degree (B. A.) in Business, Marketing or Engineering from four-year college or university * Four years of related sales experience working in an industry of capital equipment * Valid Driver’s License required **Skills & Abilities** * Must be able to read, analyze, and interpret complex documents * Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints * Aptitude to write speeches and articles using original or innovative techniques or style * Flair for making effective and persuasive speeches and presentations on controversial or complex topics to top management, public groups, and/or boards of directors * Profound commercial skills in understanding customer needs and identifying a product offering to satisfy those needs
