Responsibilities
**Financial Services Representative I:** * Receive members in a friendly, professional manner and support the Credit Union’s mission statement * Actively take calls on Credit Union and branch pilots, providing accurate information and ensuring member satisfaction * Maintain members’ privacy by protecting their personal information * Develop knowledge of consumer loans, new accounts and specialty accounts with support from others * Interview members and ask detailed questions about their financial situation, determining and offering products and services that best fulfill the members’ need * Actively build relationships with members by communicating with them through the onboarding process and following up with them following subsequent interactions * Process applications, both new accounts and loans, approving loans up to lending limit and making recommendations for counteroffer or denial * Take on risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level and guidance from others * Actively work with members to secure loan funding and additional products and services * Document details supporting new account and loan decisions * Use knowledge and judgment to protect members and the Credit Union from loss * Use critical thinking skills to solve problems and improve processes, work efficiently and use time effectively * Answer basic IRA and specialty account questions for members and coworkers * Actively participate in branch and Credit Union promotions * Assist members with transactions and maintain a cash drawer as needed * Maintain awareness of branch activity and assist where needed, including but not limited to, branch opening and closing duties * Provide notary public services * Maintain active passwords to software systems * Maintain a high level of integrity; treat members and coworkers with courtesy and respect; foster teamwork and a supportive work environment * Recognize and seek assistance with complex situations * Take initiative within the branch; seek training opportunities to develop or enhance knowledge * Accept ownership of, and remain current on, all new and existing information, processes and software systems provided by the Credit Union * Remain current on robbery and branch emergency procedures * Participate in training activities within your department or branch and with the learning and talent development department; such training helps to ensure staff compliance with Credit Union policies and state and federal regulations and laws * Perform other duties and assist other employees, as assigned **Financial Services Representative II:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I duties and responsibilities * Handle more complex transactions with confidence, knowledge, and creativity * Utilize working knowledge of consumer loans, new accounts and specialty accounts with limited assistance from others * Develop basic knowledge of home equity loans and home equity lines of credit * Take on risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level and limited guidance from others * Share knowledge with others regarding branch processes and security procedures * Establish deeper relationships with members while assisting them with their needs **Financial Services Officer I:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I and II duties and responsibilities * Assist members and co-workers with greater depth of knowledge of products, services, and procedures, becoming a known resource throughout the branch * Process, approve and close home equity loans and home equity lines of credit * Utilize working knowledge of consumer loans, new accounts and specialty accounts independently while taking on additional complexity * Take on risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level * Provide decision-making assistance to coworkers * Participate in supporting, mentoring and training staff * Assist members with mortgage inquiries and process mortgage applications as determined by branch volume **Financial Services Officer II:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I and II, and Financial Services Officer I duties and responsibilities * Assist members and co-workers with greater depth of knowledge of products, services, and procedures, becoming a known resource throughout the branches * Process, approve and close home equity loans and home equity lines of credit independently while mentoring others to do the same * Utilize advanced knowledge of consumer loans, new accounts and specialty accounts independently while mentoring others to do the same * Take on risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level while mentoring the same in others. * Recognize opportunities to assist others with complex issues * Participate in branch and Credit Union promotions, modeling expected performance. Mentor others to do the same * Participate in Credit Union initiatives and committees **Senior Financial Services Officer:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I and II, and Financial Services Officer I and II duties and responsibilities * Assist members and coworkers with greater depth of knowledge of products, services, and procedures, being a known resource throughout the Credit Union * Process, approve and close home equity loans and home equity lines of credit independently while actively mentoring others to do the same * Utilize advanced knowledge of consumer loans, new accounts and specialty accounts independently while actively mentoring others to do the same * Take on risk and utilize lending limits commensurate with level while actively mentoring the same in others * Take on a leadership role, actively supporting, mentoring and training staff * Support Credit Union direction while helping others understand the purpose * Actively participate in branch and Credit Union promotions, modeling expected performance; mentor others to do the same * Develop, monitor, and garner participation for branch promotions to support Credit Union goals * Act as in-charge person within the branch in the absence of management
Ideal Candidate
**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required** * All Financial Services Representatives are required to obtain an NMLS number. **Financial Services Representative I:** * 1 year lending experience * Effective communication skills * Interpersonal skills * Analytical skills * Typing skills with emphasis on accuracy * Math and general clerical aptitude * Sales skills * Ability to multitask and be detail oriented * Knowledge of Credit Union products, services and procedures * Be reliable and dependable * Completion or pursuit of Bachelor’s degree preferred **Financial Services Representative II:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I knowledge, skills, and abilities * Advanced sales skills with the ability to demonstrate these skills to others * More in-depth knowledge of Credit Union products, services and procedures **Financial Services Officer I:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I and II knowledge, skills, and abilities * Advanced analytical skills * Strong sales skills with the ability to develop these skills in others * Advanced knowledge of Credit Union products and services **Financial Services Officer II:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I and II, and Financial Services Officer I knowledge, skills, and abilities * High level of sales skills with the ability to develop these skills in others * Comprehensive knowledge of Credit Union products and services * Ability to mentor and train others * Leadership skills to mentor and assist others **Senior Financial Services Officer:** * All of the Financial Services Representative I and II, and Financial Services Officer I and II knowledge, skills, and abilities * Leadership skills to maintain branch operations in the absence of management * Physical Demands and Work Environment * Required to sit, stand, walk; talk and hear; and interact with office equipment. * Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. * Normal office environment where there is minimal discomfort due to temperature, dust, noise and other factors. * Exposure to potentially hazardous condition, i.e. robbery. Receives detailed instructions and procedures to be followed to minimize the exposure.
