Summary
Vista Outdoor is seeking a Director of Special Market Sales to add to our team to support Outdoor Products located in Overland Park, KS. The Director of Special Market Sales will be responsible for directing and expanding the market sales and distribution of all close out, excess, and returned inventory.
Responsibilities
* Develops and implements strategic marketing/sales plan for Vista Outdoor Special Markets- E/O inventories. * Establishes new business partners for inventory reductions * Plans and attends industry specific trade shows. * Develops and executes sales plans for inventory reduction- reports monthly on the progression. * Develops procedure for excess and obsolete inventory management and communication. * Specializes in special market channels. * Introduces pricing strategies by market segment. * Communicates with operational team on inventory management reduction strategies. * Participates in monthly S&OP Meetings. * Assists GPL in lifecycle management plans as it pertains to inventory changes
Ideal Candidate
* BA, BS in Marketing or related field required; MA/MS preferred * 8+ years’ sales management experience * Extensive knowledge of Special Markets * Export sales experience * Experience with and understanding of customers and thorough understanding of manufacturing cost and accounting practices * Long and short term analytical skills including potential problem analysis and risk analysis/mitigation planning * Sound leadership, communication and business math skills * Ability to work well independently with little supervision * Willingness to travel up to 30% of the time. * Current knowledge of news and information relevant to the industry **Desired Qualifications:** * Experience in the hunting, shooting or sporting goods industry
