Summary

We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join Moz’s Public Relations team in our Seattle, WA office. In this role, you’ll serve primarily as communications expert and strategist for Moz Local and other Moz products and initiatives as needed. The ideal candidate is a creative self-starter with excellent communication, organization and collaboration skills who has expertise in media relations, analyst relations, messaging development and strategic planning.

Responsibilities
  • Develop exciting and impactful PR and AR programs that support primarily Moz Local and other Moz products and initiatives as needed.
  • Partner closely with colleagues across the Marketing team and product teams to ensure successful, coordinated execution of marketing campaigns.
  • Work with the Director of Communications to liaise with PR agency to support department needs and initiatives.
  • Build relationships with and develop and pitch creative story ideas to targeted press.
  • Create clear and simple messaging that communicates the value and benefits of our products to Moz customers.
  • Manage special projects, including research reports that shape monthly editorial calendars, press attendance at events, awards submissions, speaking opportunities for spokespeople, and more.
  • Stay informed on all industry news, especially Moz Local competitors.
  • Coordinate monthly PR reporting metrics and recaps.
Ideal Candidate
  • 5-8 years experience in a public relations or similar role. Agency and/or in-house experience in the technology industry is highly preferred.
  • Strong track record of media relations and analyst relations experience, contacts and results.
  • Experience developing research (surveys, white papers, etc.) into content (press materials, pitches, blog posts).
  • Ability to work effectively under tight deadlines and manage projects independently.
  • Strong organization skills and ability to project manage and multi-task effectively.
  • Strong written communicator, including editing and proofreading, and verbal communicator, including ability to present concepts clearly and succinctly.
  • Excellent problem solver, creative thinker, and extremely self-motivated.
  • Proven ability to work cross-functionally with technical and non-technical groups.
