Responsibilities
* Responsible for generating personal trust and institutional trust business through a third-party corporate trustee partner who is part of the Morgan Stanley Alliance Program; trust business must be custodied at Morgan Stanley where a Financial Advisor owns the relationship and is compensated from the trust business; credit is given for marketable securities owned by the trust and/or LLC/LP assets where the Financial Advisor is managing the underlying assets within his/her branch office; other new business credit parameters apply and will be explained * Provide regional support/coverage for the assigned territory; this involves visiting all Morgan Stanley branch offices and educating/communicating with approximately 1,700 Financial Advisors and their clients; frequent travel throughout the assigned region is required * Utilizing all third-party corporate trustee partners and including them with travel, branch visits and exposure to Financial Advisors * Work with attorney/CPA/Business Professional contacts of Financial Advisors to educate them about Morgan Stanley’s corporate trustee platform * Review all trust agreements, wills and estate planning documents provided by Financial Advisors for consideration of a corporate trustee solution; the Trust Specialist review is then sent to a trustee partner for their formal review/acceptance/rejection * Gain an understanding of the investment management platforms at Morgan Stanley that are eligible for our corporate trustee partners
Ideal Candidate
* Series 7 and Series 63 registered * College Degree * 5+ years’ experience in trust sales or similar new business development role; at least 10 years’ experience in trust industry * Ability to travel * Strong communicative skills and professional speaking experience * Proficient in Microsoft Office
