Minerva Networks, based in Santa Clara, CA, is a leading provider of IP Television solution. We have two fantastic entry-level opportunities for recent graduates in Computer Science, Information Technology, or Electrical Engineering. As a Technical Support Engineer, you will be the first point of contact for Minerva’s IP Video Headend customers and responsible for providing phone support services on Minerva and related third party products.
Responsibilities
* Isolating and troubleshooting problems associated with the customer’s entire headend system, including the satellite receive systems, the MPEG-over-IP encoding, the IP networking system, application servers, video servers, and set-top boxes * Re-creating customer problems and testing customer configurations in-house to help diagnose problems * Coordinating and driving activities within Minerva to address customers’ needs * Investigating quality issues to enhance service provided to customers * Assisting with application and platform installations and technical procedures * Assisting with and supporting on-going development and technical issues * Recommending new solutions * Pro-actively consulting customers on basic/advanced uses of Minerva products * Helping customers prioritize issues and managing customer satisfaction
Ideal Candidate
* ASCS/IT/EE or equivalent technical degree. * Demonstrated knowledge of Computer Software and Hardware and/or IP networking technology. * Excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Must be able to quickly learn a broad array of technologies and apply knowledge to real-world problems. * Must be a flexible team player who is willing to jump in to help others wherever necessary. **Preferred Skills:** * 3-5 yrs Technical Support experience with products related to digital video broadcasting, IP networking, and/or web-based client/server applications. * Excellent troubleshooting skills. * Familiarity with routing configuration and protocols. **Education:** * 2-4 years of network management and systems integration experience. * Computer Science or Electrical Engineering Bachelor/Master’s Degree or ASCS/IT/EE or equivalent technical degree. * Minerva Networks is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
