Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Unix Engineer. In this role,­ the candidate ­will handle engineering activities for Unix servers that includes build, monitoring, tier III problem isolation and repair in non-prod environment. You will also be responsible for maintenance and certification of new OS releases through their lifecycle.

Responsibilities
  • Analyze the current server and storage configurations in detail including OS, SAN and back end storage arrays.
  • Design and solution a Unix server environments.
  • Provision/Administer Unix servers.
  • Perform capacity analysis of Unix servers.
Ideal Candidate
  • At least 5-7 years in Software Support
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Systems or equivalent work experience
  • Experience with certification of different operating Systems and new technologies
  • Hands-on experience on Linux, Solaris and AIX operating systems in an enterprise environment
  • Certify new hardware/server models and their components
  • Experience in building, configuring and performance tuning RHEL5, 6 and 7 servers­­
  • Provide Tier 2 & 3 support on Unix, AIX and Linux Servers and related technologies as needed
  • Experience in physical and virtual environments
  • Experience with Bladelogic/Puppet/Chef in large enterprise environment
  • Tier 2 & 3 technical support, troubleshooting of complex issues, enhancement of operations practices & documentation
  • Experience with security compliance and security patching of different operating systems
  • Familiarity with SAN, NAS, DNS, vSphere, VMware and automation tools
  • Familiarity with ticketing system like Service-Now
  • Ability to work in fast paced and demanding environment
