Responsibilities
MetLife, a leading provider of insurance and other financial services to individual and institutional customers, is seeking a Loan Asset Manager Associate-Commercial Real Estate in Dallas, TX! Major Duties and Functions Include: Asset management, servicing, surveillance, and mortgage ratings for a portfolio of commercial real estate loans owned by MetLife’s general account and third party investors. Assist with underwriting, due diligence, documentation, and closings on new originations. Principal Responsibilities: - Handle loan asset management and servicing matters including payoffs, prepayments, estoppels, lease reviews, SNDA’s, reserves, escrows, draw requests, cash management, easements, financial reporting, inspections, post-closing items, and borrower requests. - Support mortgage originators on loan transactions and assist with underwriting, data collection, market research, due diligence, documentation, and closing of loans. - Coordinate and assist with mortgage modifications, extensions, assumptions, and restructures. - Team effectively with mortgage originators, loan managers, risk management, internal departments, third-party servicers, and legal counsel on routine tasks and ad-hoc requests. - Conduct active portfolio surveillance, monitor loan/property performance, handle problem loans, assist on note sales, and coordinate workouts/restructures. - Coordinate and handle mortgage compliance, data input, and information integrity. - Prepare mortgage ratings including financial analysis, data collection, market research, and valuation of commercial real estate. Dimensions: - Management and origination of investments for general account and third party clients.
Ideal Candidate
Required: - Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, Communication, Marketing, Liberal Arts, Engineering, or Economics as well as any other related field of expertise. - 3 years of commercial real estate experience. - 3 years of experience with loan documents including promissory notes, deed of trust, guarantees, escrow agreements, leases, and SNDA’s. - 3 years of experience with commercial real estate valuation and market fundamentals. Preferred: - MBA with a concentration in finance and real estate. - Experience in various property types including office, retail, industrial, multi-family, and hotels. - Proficiency with ARGUS, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. - Team oriented with excellent communication, organizational and time management skills.
